This project certainly forced me to come to grips with deadline management. The time frame in which it happened made it much more difficult, as travel surrounding spring break resulted in me being quite behind on the project. As a result of the time difficulties of the project, my animations couldn’t be as elaborate as I had initially planned on them being. However, the process was also much more difficult than I had initially anticipated. Initially, I planned on doing frame by frame animations in Animate. However, as I began my process I found that the software was much more complex than I had thought, and I only was ultimately able to animate the water ripple sequence in Animate, in part due to an inability to fully understand the software, and in part due to the approaching deadline. The majority of my work was done in After Effects, which I found the animation to be much easier in. Additionally, I found that syncing the movements with the music wasn’t as hard as I had initially anticipated either, once I had animated movements for specific sounds, I was able to generally copy and paste them to other sounds later in the animation. However, due to time constraints I wasn’t able to animate as many sounds as possible. Ultimately, in the future I would emphasize the importance of time management skills, as most of the ideas that I left out of my animation came not as a result of ineptitude or confusion but from a lack of time to fully realize them.
